The frontsheet is used to replace the glass in order to reduce the weight of the photovoltaic module or to permit the realization of flexible photovoltaic modules.

The Frontshet has several  requirements as : low permeability to water vapor, excellent UV resistance, a high degree of transmission of visible light and a duration from 10 to 25 years and, in some cases manifests a greater mechanical resistance to impact.

Physical and thermal properties:

• Thickness range = 50 um, 100 um, or custom

• Thermal conductivity @40°C = 0.15 W/(mK)

The frontsheet is a strong, hard, tough, abrasion resistant film that retains its useful properties over a broad range of temperatures.

Front sheet also has excellent weathering properties in relation to UV radiation and is ideal for photovoltaic frontsheet applications.
